About Us

Desert Hardwoods was born from a desire to give these beautiful urban hardwood trees a second life as a bowl or a beautiful piece of artwork. We have salvaged hundreds of trees locally that would have otherwise been destined for the landfill. 

As the Phoenix metro area continues to expand, more and more areas are being cleared for development. At Desert Hardwoods we work closely with a few trusted Arborists to select specific trees that can be saved from the landfill. 

 

 

As a part time Turner I realized a few years ago that our local trees are incredible to turn with and make fantastic bowls, hollow forms, pens etc. I also realized that there are a lot of people across the country who dont have access to these amazing trees. 

I'm also a full time Husband and Dad of 2 teenage girls. Its an all-hands-on-board type of business when it comes to processing and selling bowl blanks and I'm extremely grateful for my family's support.
